2026 Bridal Hair Trends — And How to Make Them Work for You

Every year I see hundreds of Pinterest boards, and every year brides ask me: "Is this trend right for me?" So let's talk about what's actually trending in bridal hair in 2026, what I'm personally excited about, and — most importantly — how to figure out what will look and feel amazing on you.

2026 bridal hair trends

The soft sculpted updo

This is the one I'm seeing everywhere right now and honestly? I'm obsessed. It's a step up from the undone buns we saw dominate 2024 and 2025. Think polished but not stiff — structured chignons, French twists with a modern softness, low buns with deliberate face-framing tendrils. It photographs beautifully and lasts all night.

Amanda says: This style works especially well for outdoor Fraser Valley venues and winery weddings, where you want something that feels effortless but holds up in the wind.

The '90s blowout

Voluminous, bouncy, brushed-out — this look is having a serious moment and I'm here for it. It's glamorous without being fussy, and it suits almost every hair type when done right. The key is in the prep and the set — it's not just a blowout, it's a crafted blowout.

If you're a bride who doesn't want to feel "done up" but still wants to look incredible, this one's for you.

Romantic loose waves

Soft, fluid, touchable waves aren't going anywhere. The 2026 version is less beachy-and-tousled, more intentional and romantic — movement without messiness. These pair beautifully with longer veils and garden or bohemian wedding vibes.

Natural texture celebration

This is the trend I'm most passionate about. Brides with curls, coils, and waves are finally embracing their natural hair instead of fighting it — and the results are absolutely stunning. Working with your natural texture (rather than against it) gives you a look that's uniquely and authentically you.

Amanda says: I've worked with all hair types throughout the Fraser Valley and Vancouver — fine hair, thick hair, naturally curly hair that you want to embrace. This is what I love most. Your natural texture is never a problem to be solved!

So which trend is right for you?

Here's my honest answer: none of them, unless it feels like you. Trends are inspiration, not a blueprint. The best bridal hair is the style that makes you feel like the most confident version of yourself.

When we meet for your trial, I always ask: how do you wear your hair on a day when you feel really good? That's our starting point. Then we elevate it.

Consider:

→  Your dress neckline — a high neckline usually pairs beautifully with an updo, while a low back or strapless gown suits both up and down styles

→  Your venue — outdoor summer venues in Langley or Abbotsford call for styles that can handle heat and a breeze; indoor Vancouver venues allow for more elaborate options

→  Your personality — are you sleek and polished, or more effortlessly undone? Your wedding hair should feel like you
